The Swedish Fortification Agency is looking for an investigator for the External Controls Group within the Security Department. As an investigator, you will contribute to strengthening Sweden's defense capability by ensuring that suppliers comply with security protection requirements.

The Swedish Fortification Agency owns, develops, and manages robust defense properties for peace, crisis, and war. With our unique expertise in defense properties, we create secure environments for a robust total defense.
Your daily work – strengthening security in the total defense
The External Controls Group is part of the Security Department within the Control and Security Vetting Unit. The Security Department is responsible for security protection at the Swedish Fortification Agency, which includes security protection analysis, physical security, information security, personnel security, incident management, signal security, and security protection agreements. Approximately 80 employees currently work within the Security Department.
The External Controls Group leads and coordinates the Agency's control activities regarding security protection among suppliers with whom the Agency has concluded security protection agreements.
As an investigator, you will plan and conduct investigations, controls, and follow-ups of the Agency's contracted suppliers to ensure compliance with current security protection requirements. This involves identifying deficiencies, proposing measures, and following up on actions to improve security protection.
The role also involves providing support to suppliers on security protection matters. Contact with suppliers, partners, and other agencies is a major part of the work. The External Controls Group is growing rapidly, giving you the opportunity to participate in the development of processes, working methods, and routines.
The location is Eskilstuna, and travel within Sweden occurs regularly. This position does not offer the possibility of remote or home working.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have an interest in security and relevant post-secondary education in fields such as social sciences, political science, behavioral science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience in investigative work or experience conducting supplier controls. You have experience in conducting analysis work and collaborating with both internal and external actors. You have good administrative skills, good computer literacy, and experience using support systems, as well as good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. A Class B driver's license is required.
It is meritorious if you have education and/or experience working within security protection agreements, information security, physical security, or personnel security. It is also meritorious if you have experience in investigative or control activities directed towards companies, suppliers, or other external actors. Experience in control activities within the security protection area and knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces or the Swedish Security Service's regulations on security protection are also meritorious. Experience working in the public sector is also considered an advantage.

We are looking for you who have good judgment and feel confident in making assessments and decisions based on available information. We need you who have high security awareness, high integrity, good judgment, and a pronounced drive to help protect Sweden's security.

About the employment
The position is a permanent appointment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be war-placed. The location is Eskilstuna. Employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. Security vetting with register check will be conducted prior to employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
