Svensk Kärnbränslehantering AB (SKB) is responsible for managing radioactive waste from Swedish nuclear power plants in a safe and efficient manner. Using world-leading technology and caring for people, the environment, and society, we are building the foundation for fossil-free electricity production.

Today, approximately 500 people are employed at SKB. We have extensive cooperation with experts and contractors outside the company.

SKB's headquarters is located in Arenastaden, Solna. We also have offices in Oskarshamn and Forsmark in Östhammar Municipality, where we have facilities and conduct various operations in preparation for the construction of a final repository for spent nuclear fuel.

About the Role

SKB is looking for an engaged and reliable Vehicle Technician/Transport Technician.

Where you will work

The Operations and Maintenance Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of SKB's nuclear facilities, Clab and SFR, as well as the transport system. The department has approximately 130 employees distributed across three locations: Oskarshamn, Östhammar, and Solna. At Clab, we receive and store spent nuclear fuel and reactor components from Sweden's nuclear power plants while waiting for the final repository to be built and put into operation. At SFR, we receive both operational and decommissioning waste from the nuclear power plants, and the facility is currently being expanded.

What you will do

To better prepare for the future, we are now expanding the transport group at Clab in Oskarshamn with a Vehicle Technician who will also serve as a Transport Technician.

Your responsibilities:

• Perform service, maintenance, and troubleshooting on all terminal vehicles in SKB's transport system as well as other vehicles at Clab.
• Drive terminal vehicles during land transport of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste.
• Act as a transport leader.
• Perform cargo transport within the area.
• Work in Simpevarp harbor with the reception and berthing of SKB's ship Sigrid, as well as during loading and unloading.

Requirements

We are looking for a Vehicle Technician with knowledge of heavy vehicles. It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have a C-driver's license, wheel loader qualification, forklift and overhead crane certificates, as well as knowledge of hydraulics.

You are a solution-oriented and proactive person who takes initiative and drives your tasks forward with a focus on results. The work involves close collaboration with other groups within the organization and with external suppliers, so we believe you are communicative and have good teamwork skills. We also see that you are curious about new areas of work and therefore flexible.
