Kungälv Municipality is a place where we create value together in people's daily lives. Our vision shows the direction forward, and our keywords – courage, respect, and co-creation – guide how we work every day. A good workplace culture and support for your personal development are important to us. Your contribution counts!

Description

Kungälv Municipality is growing, and in tandem with this, the municipality is recruiting a Data Protection Coordinator to the Executive Office, within the Legal & Procurement unit. In addition to the Executive Office, the administration in Kungälv Municipality is divided into three sectors. We have a total of eleven employees in the unit, and in addition to providing legal support to the municipality's operations and companies, the unit is responsible for the municipality's procurement and purchasing organization.

In this recruitment, we are looking for a substitute for an employee who has moved on to a new job.

Responsibilities

In the role of Data Protection Coordinator, you support the municipality's organization and coordinate, drive, and develop the administration's work with data protection. You help determine the requirements that the municipality's committees, as data controllers, must place on their suppliers. You work independently and handle your cases under your own responsibility, while collaborating with colleagues both within your own unit and other units.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a higher education or university degree relevant to the assignment, for example in law, social sciences, information security, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. To be considered for the position, you must have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

You have previous experience in qualified work with data protection issues and have knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as related legislation.

You should further have good knowledge of current data protection legislation and have an interest in both the practical and legal aspects of data protection. You also need to have an interest in monitoring legal developments in the field and in clearly and pedagogically informing political bodies and officials about how current and upcoming legislation affects the municipality's work with data protection.

Since an important part of your assignment is to help with compliance with data protection regulations within the municipality's organization, you need to be communicative, pedagogical, and a good relationship builder. This means you have the ability to motivate, engage, and create understanding even among target groups with varying levels of knowledge and interest. That you thrive in such a role is a prerequisite for you to enjoy the work as a Data Protection Coordinator.

Great importance will therefore be placed on your personal qualities.

Merits

It is meritorious if you have previously worked in the public sector with data protection issues, for example as a lawyer, Data Protection Officer (DPO), or Data Protection Coordinator.

If you have knowledge and practical experience working with the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (OSL), this is also considered a merit.

Recruitment Process

During weeks 28–30, the recruiting manager will be on vacation. Thereafter, any questions about the position will be answered from week 31 onwards.

Interviews are planned to be held during weeks 36–37.

Work psychological tests may be used as part of the recruitment process.

Start date no later than the end of 2026 or as agreed.

Could this be a job for you? We welcome your application!
