We are looking for Telecommunications Designers for major projects, specifically Norrbotniabanan, for the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).

This is a consultancy assignment.

Location: Umeå, Skellefteå, or Luleå. Physical presence at the Transport Administration's office in Umeå approximately once a month.

The position is part-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

We are seeking a Telecommunications Designer for the Transport Administration's Norrbotniabanan program, one of Sweden's largest infrastructure projects. Norrbotniabanan comprises a new 270 km long single-track railway between Umeå and Luleå and consists of several projects and sub-projects with approximately 200 people in the client organization.

The assignment covers telecommunications design with a focus on planning, design, and construction support for the Umeå–Skellefteå section, including measures along the Skellefteå Railway. You will become part of the Transport Administration's project organization and work in close collaboration with the project management. If needed, the assignment may also include support for other parts of the Norrbotniabanan program and knowledge transfer to the Transport Administration's employees.

Responsibilities

  • Design telecommunications measures for Opto 2.0 along the Skellefteå Railway.
  • Prepare construction documents for the new railway between Umeå and Skellefteå with ERTMS.
  • Prepare drawings, technical descriptions, and bills of quantities for execution contracts.
  • Perform internal review and self-control.
  • Compile and update construction management documentation and identify changes from ongoing civil engineering contracts.

Requirements (Note, mandatory)

Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

Requirements – Primary Resource

  • At least 4 years of experience as a telecommunications designer on railway installations covered by technical regulations for telecommunications technology.
  • Experience as a lead designer for Opto 2.0.
  • Experience working as a BIM designer.

Requirements – Supporting Resource

  • At least 2 years of experience as a telecommunications designer.

Meritorious

  • Experience working in the final stages, including handling of maintenance data and as-built documentation.
  • Experience as a technical specialist with a focus on technical requirements specification and review during design and implementation.
