GlobalConnect offers everything from secure connectivity for retail chains and small to medium-sized enterprises, to building advanced data centers for some of the world's most demanding customers.

In the role of Receptionist, you will be the face of GlobalConnect's Uppsala office. You are responsible for the daily operations of the reception and ensure that the office runs smoothly for both employees and visitors. You work independently on-site in Uppsala but have close collaboration with the receptionist in Stockholm and other colleagues within Facility Management. The role is broad and varied, combining classic reception duties with office services, administration, and contact with suppliers and property owners.

This is a consultancy assignment, meaning you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at GlobalConnect. The assignment is full-time, starting in early August and running until the end of October. There may be opportunities for extension, provided there is room for it and all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and welcome visitors and be responsible for the reception
  • Handle switchboard, phone, and incoming emails
  • Be responsible for incoming and outgoing mail
  • Handle cases in Jira and administer the Facility Management inbox in Outlook and Teams
  • Be responsible for employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Ensure that common areas such as meeting rooms, kitchen, and lounge are welcoming and function as intended
  • Order office supplies and consumables
  • Maintain ongoing contact with suppliers, landlords, and property owners
  • Provide administrative and practical support to employees at the office

We are looking for someone who

  • Has completed upper secondary education
  • Has experience in service-oriented work
  • Has good computer skills and feels comfortable working in Outlook, Teams, and other digital tools
  • Has very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing, as this is required to perform the job

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have

  • Previous experience working as a receptionist or in a similar office service role
