The mission of the Psychosocial Unit is to conduct psychosocial investigation, assessment, and treatment work at Södersjukhuset. We work in teams serving all different patient groups at the hospital and their relatives. The unit also includes special assignments for specific patient groups, such as LGBTQ Health and the Pain Clinic. Our staff includes social workers, psychologists, psychotherapists, doctors, and nurses.
We are now looking for a social worker (counselor) to join our team within Women's Health and Obstetrics. The position is a fixed-term contract with the possibility of permanent employment.
Job Description
As a social worker within the Psychosocial Unit, you will have an exciting and varied job. Above all, we work with conversations. This can involve crisis, support, and processing talks with patients and their relatives. It can also involve providing patients with advice on social issues. The team at Women's Health and Obstetrics sees patients from the fields of gynecology and obstetrics. This also includes assignments at the Emergency Department for Rape Victims, the Breast Clinic, and the Vulva Team. We also have special assignments within National Highly Specialized Care regarding endometriosis. As a social worker in gynecology and obstetrics, you will have a varied role where you will, among other things, meet patients and relatives from the abortion clinic who are in crisis and grieving after the loss of a pregnancy or child, patients with various types of pain conditions, or patients being treated as inpatients on one of our wards. You will also meet patients who have been exposed to traumatic events. Our operations are characterized by acute care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, as well as more specialized outpatient contacts over time.

It is important that you can function independently in your professional role, but it is also essential that you enjoy collaborating with others. You need to be flexible and, when necessary, able to switch to handling urgent matters with short notice. The person we are looking for should also be positive and development-oriented, have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, and work with the patient in focus. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and good teamwork skills.
Competency Requirements:
- We are looking for you who are fundamentally a social worker. You should have at least basic psychotherapy training (step 1) and have worked as a social worker in healthcare, preferably within women's health.

Other Information
Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday, and the form of employment is full-time 40 hours/week. Södersjukhuset applies a background check prior to the decision on employment. In this recruitment, we work continuously with selection and interviews.
