Are you a biomedical analyst or have equivalent education, with an interest in reproductive medicine and embryology? We are looking for a colleague for a fixed-term position at our Reproductive Medicine Laboratory at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge!

About the position

At the Reproductive Medicine Laboratory in Huddinge, we specialize in investigations and advanced treatments for involuntary childlessness and infertility in both men and women. Treatments offered here include ovarian stimulation, insemination with partner or donor sperm, IVF, surgical sperm retrieval (TBD/MD-TESE), and egg donation.

We also perform fertility preservation measures prior to, for example, cancer treatment or gender-affirming treatment, in the form of freezing sperm, unfertilized or fertilized eggs/blastocysts, as well as ovarian or testicular tissue. We also have a national highly specialized assignment within PGT (preimplantation genetic testing) and receive patients from all over Sweden and even from other countries.

The duties include handling of oocytes and sperm, semen analysis, embryo culture, assessment of embryo development, and cryopreservation of eggs, sperm, and embryos. As an embryologist at Karolinska, you become part of a competent team with doctors and midwives who jointly drive our operations forward. Our operations are primarily conducted during daytime hours, but some weekend work is included as an embryologist.

The position is a fixed-term appointment for the period 2026-09-01 to 2027-08-31.

  • Have good interpersonal skills, as patient contact occurs in several work tasks.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed biomedical analyst or alternatively a university degree in natural sciences or equivalent education assessed by the organization as equivalent.

Merits:

  • Experience within embryology.
  • Experience working in a hospital environment as well as with systems connected to the hospital, such as TakeCare, FertSoft (IVF journal system), Centuri.
  • Research background or experience in a research environment.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability for the position.
