About the position

Within the Intermediate Care Unit (IMA), patients with failure in one or more organs are treated. These patients require a higher level of care and monitoring than on standard wards, but do not fully require intensive care. As a Nursing Assistant at IMA, you play a vital role in person-centered care. You work in a team together with nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. We provide both basic and advanced nursing care with the patient's best interests always in focus.

At IMA in Solna, patients with both medical and surgical needs are treated. You will therefore utilize your entire knowledge base to meet the patient's needs and provide good care based on complex requirements. The work at IMA is varied and sometimes involves a high tempo, immediate actions, quick decisions, and close follow-up. We work to ensure the patient's needs for basic care, such as hygiene, mobilization, food, and sleep.

We also provide advanced nursing care, such as tracheostomy care, oral care for patients with Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV), secretion mobilization with PEP or a cough assist machine, fluid and urine measurement, monitoring and assessment of delirious states, skin inspection, and pressure ulcer prevention measures for immobilized patients. We work largely bedside to alleviate anxiety and to meet the patient's needs for monitoring and nursing care.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Proof of protected professional title for nursing assistants or an employer's certificate confirming that you had a permanent position as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, in accordance with the transitional provisions (2021:739) of the Patient Safety Act (2010:659). If you apply with an employer's certificate, you must attach a certificate from your nursing assistant exam.
• Experience working as a nursing assistant in acute care, intermediate care, and/or intensive care for at least 2 years.
• Good knowledge of performing various checks such as pulse, blood pressure, sampling, as well as handling critically ill patients.

Merits:

• Previous experience working in intermediate care and/or intensive care.
• Specialized training in areas relevant to the operations.

About the recruitment process
