Veterinarian at District Veterinarians in Gävle (Temporary Position)
Are you ready to work in a society-supporting operation? Do you want to work with all animal species and a mix of both emergency and planned activities?
To ensure that all animals in Sweden have the conditions to live as good a life as possible, District Veterinarians (Distriktsveterinärerna) exist. With 24/7 readiness, clinics across the country, and unique knowledge of animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and a more secure life. As district veterinarians, we work on behalf of private individuals, companies, and authorities. We offer society-supporting services for emergency animal healthcare, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place. District Veterinarians are part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a veterinary colleague who can strengthen our team at District Veterinarians in Gävle while one of our employees is on leave. District Veterinarians Gävle is a clinic with great opportunities for development in areas of interest. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in horses or small animals. We already have good competence in small animals, farm animals, and many aspects of equine activities. The role involves approximately 2-5 days of clinical work per week or on-call duty (evenings and weekends) where all animal species may appear.
We are a good team that is happy to support each other and answer questions. Today, we have 13 employees of mixed ages: nine veterinarians, one veterinary nurse, and three animal caretakers. You thrive in a team environment, contribute to the development of efficient and smart working methods, and want to be involved in maintaining our capacity and continuing to develop our customer base. We have good cooperation with surrounding districts, and if you need to consult someone else who is on duty during evenings/weekends/night shifts, there is always someone available.
Since on-call duty is a natural part of our services, you must have the willingness to work with and maintain competence in all existing animal species. You find the variety as a District Veterinarian attractive, and beyond that, there are opportunities for development, especially within a specific special interest. We work continuously with competence development, and we see your professional growth as our best investment.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a veterinarian, who is self-reliant and takes responsibility for your tasks. At the same time, you have an easy time collaborating and see the value in good cooperation. We wish for you to be meticulous and organized. You are a person who can learn quickly and who has the courage and desire to take on challenges but can also ask for help when needed.
At our clinic, no two days are ever alike, which is why you should enjoy being part of an event-driven operation and be able to adapt to some extent to what the situation requires. As a veterinarian, you are proactive and forward-thinking, and you like to think outside the box. You appreciate customer contact and enjoy keeping the customer in focus.
In the role of veterinarian, we demonstrate good judgment through the ability to make correct prioritizations based on the needs of the situation, and you are keen on doing a good job. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Swedish veterinary license and a B-driver's license are required.
We have ongoing selection and interviews, so please submit your application today.
The position is a temporary assignment of approximately 12 months, with a chance of extension.
