At KAVA, the Surgical Emergency Care Unit, we care for patients with acute surgical and trauma diagnoses. The patient group is diverse, and common diagnoses include appendicitis, ileus, gastrointestinal bleeding, trauma, and urological diseases. KAVA has 24 inpatient beds and receives the majority of the acute surgical flow from the emergency department. The goal of KAVA is to focus on the acute flow with swift handling and short care periods, prioritizing the best possible outcomes for our patients. We are a stable team that enjoys working together and supports one another.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse at KAVA, you are offered a fun and continuously developing job that provides a great start to your nursing career and broadens your competence. You are responsible for the care of six patients and work together with a nursing assistant. Each care team surrounding the patient also includes a designated doctor, and we collaborate closely with occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Support functions such as care planning nurses, specialist nurses in surgery/emergency care, and receptionists are available during office hours. We work three out of eight weekends. Night shifts are by agreement.

As a nurse at our facility, you will work with among other things:

• Leading the care team you are responsible for.
• Coordinating medical and nursing issues.
• Preparing and administering medications, infusions, and pain therapy.
• Rounds.
• Basic nursing care.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a genuine interest in surgery and emergency care. To thrive with us, you need to be able to handle and appreciate the varied daily life on an emergency ward. Tasks and pace vary throughout the day, so you should be able to reprioritize and be flexible without compromising patient safety and quality. You are responsible and have the patient's best interest at heart.

Requirements:

• Licensed Nurse (RN).

For this position, it is meritorious if you have knowledge and experience working in surgical care and emergency care, as well as if you have an adequate specialist education.
