Psychologist for Child and Family Health/Youth Clinic in Söderhamn

The Child and Family Health/Youth Clinic in Söderhamn is a psychosocial service aimed at expectant parents, children aged 0–17, and their parents. The clinic serves as the first point of contact for expectant parents or children whose concerns stem from the family situation or the child themselves. The service works in conjunction with the Söderhamn Youth Clinic to provide primary care for children and young people aged 0–17 with mental health issues.

We are currently seeking a psychologist to join our psychosocial team for Child and Family Health/Youth Clinic in southern Hälsingland, based in Söderhamn. Interventions are offered according to stepped care. Working as a psychologist with us involves contact with children, their parents, as well as pregnant and recently delivered parents.

Job Responsibilities

The role of psychologist with us is varied and educational, where you will work both independently and in collaboration with other colleagues.

As a psychologist with us, you will primarily work with:

• Early interventions to prevent mental health issues in children and expectant parents.
• Needs-based treatments for mild to moderate mental health issues at the individual and family level.
• Developmental assessments for children up to five years old.
• Supervision of midwives at the midwife clinic and nurses at the Child Health Center (BVC).

Qualifications

In the role of psychologist, you must be a licensed psychologist.

For this position, it is meritorious if you have knowledge in trauma, maternal healthcare, and NPF (Neurodevelopmental Disorders). Experience working with children, autism assessments, anxiety/depression, as well as experience as a supervisor or group leader, is also considered meritorious. Being parent support trained or having basic psychotherapeutic training (Step 1 CBT), as well as experience in treatment work with children and young people, and knowledge within child psychiatry, are also meritorious. Good knowledge of developmental and neuropsychology and/or autism is also meritorious. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.
