The Viktor Rydberg Schools Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic librarian. This is a permanent position with a workload of 80%, starting in August or by agreement. The duties are shared equally between the two schools that make up Campus Djursholm: Viktor Rydbergs Samskola (lower secondary school) and Viktor Rydberg Gymnasium (upper secondary school). The schools share a common library, and your primary workplace will be at VRS Djursholm where the library is located.

We are looking for someone who is outgoing, service-oriented, and sees themselves as a pedagogical resource. You will play a key role in our efforts to promote reading and develop media and information literacy among students and staff.

Responsibilities

The role involves close collaboration with the foundation’s other librarians, as well as working closely with students, teachers, and school leadership. You will actively work to strengthen students' and staff's ability to navigate information flows and use media critically and creatively.

We value a vibrant relationship with literature and work pedagogically to support and inspire language development. It is natural for you to participate in teaching, projects, and other school activities. You are comfortable working both digitally and physically in classrooms and the library, and can give presentations to large groups as well as provide individual guidance.

The position also includes planning operations, administering library systems, databases, platforms, and media, as well as ongoing work on developing and updating the book collection.

Requirements

• Relevant higher education degree in Library and Information Science.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Profile

Keeping up to date within the profession is a natural part of your work style, and you thrive in an organization that is constantly evolving. You are well-versed in IT and digital solutions.

Merits

Experience with library systems such as Welib or similar, as well as experience working in a school library, would be considered an advantage.
