The Elderly Care Administration is responsible for municipality-wide issues concerning elderly care, as well as coordinating, developing, and monitoring elderly care in the city in dialogue with the district boards.

At the Elderly Care Administration, we are responsible for municipality-wide issues regarding elderly care. We coordinate, develop, and monitor elderly care in the city, in close dialogue with our district administrations and other specialized administrations.

On the Division for City-Wide Elderly Care Issues, we are approximately 30 employees and three managers. We manage and develop preventive work within elderly care in Stockholm, coordinate and plan our offer of special housing for the elderly, work with long-term competence supply and authority matters, procure and manage contracts, and monitor elderly care operations.

From September 1st, the administration will receive a new unit focused on analysis and coordination. We are looking for a new colleague who wants to join our team and contribute new perspectives and engagement. Initially, you will primarily work with Stockholm City's city-wide project Future Social Services.

Your role

As a strategist, you play a central role in developing the city's elderly care. Your tasks primarily involve:

  • independently conducting qualified investigations, responding to motions, written inquiries, and consultations
  • compiling and analyzing results from various follow-ups
  • writing materials at a city-wide level for political decisions
  • leading projects
  • collaborating closely with colleagues in the division
  • cooperating with our district administrations, specialized administrations, other authorities, the city's providers of elderly care, and the general public
  • contributing to knowledge-based development in the field

You report to your unit manager.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • a completed degree in social work, or another academic degree that the employer finds equivalent
  • experience working with qualified investigative work within elderly care or social services
  • very good knowledge of authority matters within elderly care or social services
  • several years of experience in strategic work within elderly care or social services
  • very good ability to formulate yourself orally and in writing in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • experience leading larger assignments or projects
  • worked with the transition according to the new Social Services Act
  • worked within public operations in Stockholm City with a good understanding of the city's governance.

To thrive in the role, you need to have strategic skills, be development-oriented, and have a good ability to independently plan and drive your work in an efficient manner. You easily switch between detail and overall perspectives, have a strong analytical mind, and the ability to handle complex issues. You enjoy working strategically and driving development within your areas of responsibility. You have good collaboration skills, are communicative, and create trusting relationships by inviting dialogue and cooperation, both internally and externally.
