About the role

Do you want to work in a modern and accredited laboratory operation with high competence? Welcome to County Laboratory Medicine in Sundsvall!

We are accredited according to ISO 15189:2022 and are part of the county somatic healthcare area. The operation covers clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, transfusion medicine, pathology and cytology, with laboratories in Örnsköldsvik, Sollefteå and Sundsvall. Clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine are provided around the clock, and blood donation also takes place in Härnösand.

About 145 employees work with us in various professions, including doctors, biomedical analysts, chemists, molecular biologists and IT engineers. Together we perform around 7 million analyses per year. We are now looking for a biomedical engineer to join our team! The position is a permanent full-time employment, with an start date of 2026-11-01 or by agreement.

Responsibilities

You work county-wide within County Laboratory Medicine and are responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of biomedical equipment. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the operation's staff and external suppliers.

Your tasks include, among other things:

• Planned and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Troubleshooting and corrective measures in case of operational disruptions
• Control and calibration of measuring instruments
• Participation in the procurement of biomedical equipment
• Technical responsibility for instruments and systems
• Delivery controls when introducing new equipment
• Development and follow-up of service agreements
• Investigation and handling of biomedical deviations
• Ongoing contact and cooperation with suppliers and internal users

The work places high demands on good communication skills, computer literacy and a structured approach to work. Since the operation is accredited, quality, precision and patient safety are central to the role.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who

• Have a university or civil engineering education with a biomedical focus or other technical education/experience considered equivalent by the employer
• Have experience working with biomedical products
• Have good knowledge of Swedish and technical English in both speech and writing
• Have good computer skills
• Have a B driver's license

It is an advantage if you

• Have experience and competence in image and video signals, databases, servers and wireless network/WLAN
