Command and Control School is looking for an IT Technician
Do you want to work in a qualified and socially critical IT environment where your skills contribute to Sweden's defense capability? The Command and Control School (LedSS) is now looking for an IT Technician for our IT unit. Within the Swedish Armed Forces, the position is referred to as a Drift Engineer and involves working with the operation, development, and management of technical IT environments.
About the position
As an IT Technician, you will become part of a team responsible for the operation, development, and management of business-critical IT environments. You will work with infrastructure, complex technical solutions, and varied tasks in a constantly evolving operation.

About the Command and Control School
The Command and Control School (LedSS) educates officers and other personnel for the needs of the entire Swedish Armed Forces. The school is a competence center for joint operations, command, as well as information and cyber activities, and supports the Army, Navy, and Air Force through education, development, training, and exercises. The IT Unit is a central technical resource that supports education, command training, and development activities.
Main responsibilities
You will become part of a team with broad competence in networks, IT security, servers, client management, and storage.
The IT Unit is responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and development of business-critical IT environments, as well as support for testing and experimental activities.
The tasks are partly adapted to your competence, but include among other things:
- Operation, monitoring, and maintenance of IT infrastructure
- Analysis and troubleshooting in complex IT environments
- Management and development of servers, client environments, and infrastructure services
- Participation in development and improvement work
- Support for educational, training, and exercise activities
- Collaboration with other functions within the Command and Control School and the Swedish Armed Forces
You also contribute to the team's joint work and development.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- Relevant university education or post-secondary education in the current competence area, or equivalent competence assessed by the Swedish Armed Forces as equivalent.
- At least 2 years of work experience in IT operations and maintenance of IT systems.
- Category B driver's license.
- Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Swedish citizenship.
Merits
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: networks, IT security, Windows Server/client, virtualization, and/or storage.
- Experience working in complex IT environments.
- Experience with the Swedish Armed Forces' command system.
- Experience with agile working methods.
- Certifications in relevant technical areas.

Other information
The employment is a permanent civil appointment. For new appointments, a six-month probationary period applies.
Duty grade: Full-time
Work location: Enköping
Start date: As agreed
Salary: Individual salary setting, salary target 40,000–50,000 SEK/month.
The position requires a passed security clearance and entails war-time placement with national and international work obligations.
