Vallhallaskolan – a safe and inclusive school

Vallhallaskolan is located in a beautiful natural setting right in the middle of Oskarshamn's city park. Every day, 640 students in grades F-9 and at our two after-school centers are taught by approximately 85 educators. The school also includes an after-school club with evening opening hours for our youth. The educators are divided into 6 work teams with corresponding team leaders. The school's management group includes the principal, three deputy principals, and the team leaders.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a colleague in Swedish (Sv) and Swedish as a Second Language (SvA). The position involves teaching Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language in grades 7-9. It also includes being the class teacher in lower secondary school together with a qualified colleague.

Your mission with us is to lay the foundation for a Good Life for the students you meet and teach. This means that you prepare, plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching in a professional manner based on governing documents, evidence-based knowledge, and current research. You are part of a work team with other educators, and together with the team and in subject groups, you and your colleagues work to promote the students' development towards the goals. Good collaboration and support are offered in both work teams and subject groups, as we have high teacher qualification in all subjects at the school.

All students in grades 1-9 have their own computer, and we use Google Classroom in grades 4-9 in all subjects and Digiexam in grades 6-9. All classrooms are equipped with sound systems and projectors, and we have good access to textbooks.

The educators have their own work computers and work phones. We have great pedagogical freedom, where leadership, relationship building, clarity, accessible learning environments, and study quiet are in focus.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teaching license in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language.

We would like you to have experience working in the world of schools. We place great importance on personal suitability, so we also encourage you without teacher qualification, but with experience and talent for working with students, to apply for our positions.

It is important to us that you can build good relationships, are receptive, clear, creative, and meet each student based on their prerequisites. You are a social team player, a secure person, and solution-oriented with a positive approach. We want you to be a proficient IT user and able to use various digital tools in teaching. You are a good organizer and lead the work towards the organization's goals. You have very good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and in writing.
