Unit Manager for Reception Unit – Children and Young People

If you are an experienced social worker, this is your chance to work with the treatment method MST (Multisystemic Therapy). The target group is children and young people aged 10–18 who exhibit norm-breaking behavior. The team is part of the Resource Unit for Youth and Family within the Social Services Administration and consists of four family therapists and one team leader. If you are not trained in MST, you will have the opportunity to undergo MST training through the organization MST Sweden, where part of the training is conducted in English. Responsibilities

As Unit Manager at the reception unit, you will have specific responsibilities regarding child-related issues, administration, and internal collaboration. Your colleague, also a Unit Manager, will have corresponding responsibilities for adult issues, eviction prevention, Child Advocacy Centers (Barnahus), and external collaboration. You will work closely together and share responsibility for a common budget.

You are responsible for the unit's overall development, operations, economy, and work environment. You drive the unit's work with high quality, both strategically and operationally, by planning, leading, developing, and following up on activities in close collaboration with your colleague. You are part of the management group and participate in various networks and steering/leadership groups, both internally within the administration and externally.

Here, you will have the opportunity to work with a development focus and contribute to creating and further developing a first-line social service in Eskilstuna. Success depends on the partnership between you and your colleague to build good relationships and collaboration with fellow managers.

Qualifications

At a minimum, you are educated as a social worker or hold an academic degree in behavioral sciences or equivalent, meeting the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's eligibility requirements to perform tasks within the social services' child and youth care. You have several years of relevant experience working within the social services, including authority-based decision-making, and are accustomed to collaborating with others both internally and externally. You have previous experience in a leadership role such as team leader, manager, or similar. Previous experience as a manager with full responsibility for personnel, budget, and work environment is considered a significant advantage.

You should thrive in a role where you collaborate in management, and we are looking for a person who complements the current unit manager. You are secure, calm, and stable as a person. You believe in yourself and your abilities, but you are also good at involving others and listening. You enjoy development and change and are skilled at guiding others through it.
