Your responsibilities

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and other stakeholders in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You base your work on the student group you encounter and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

This position involves teaching psychology and social studies on our national programs: the Natural Science Program and the Technology Program. The position also includes a shared mentorship for a class in year 1 of the Natural Science Program. This means that you and a colleague together lead and support the class, which provides fantastic conditions for a secure and sustainable work environment. The position is a temporary substitute role during the academic year 2026/27.

Your workplace

Berzeliusskolan is a centrally located school in Linköping with modern facilities. Here you will find the upper grades of primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The upper secondary school includes the natural science and technology programs, as well as the introduction program with a focus on language introduction and individual alternatives. In total, there are approximately 1,900 students, of which over 1,000 are within upper secondary education, and approximately 330 employees at the school.

You who apply

We primarily seek you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach psychology and social studies in upper secondary school. In the second instance, we seek you with a completed teacher education for upper secondary school. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher in upper secondary school.

It is a requirement that you have experience of working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in upper secondary school for at least one academic year. It is also meritorious if you have experience of grading or alternatively documenting students' learning during the academic year.

In your role as a teacher in upper secondary school, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25), you must organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
