Job Description

Would you like to be part of our journey where we support our national and international customers in achieving a safer and more reliable workplace and production?

We are currently looking for a driven Machinery Safety Specialist who is early in their career and wants to contribute to developing and strengthening our growing team!

The demand for qualified support within machinery safety is increasing rapidly among our customers, and we need to expand our team to meet this demand.

Here, you will have the opportunity to combine technology with problem-solving in the best way. Our tasks vary greatly and may include:

  • Analyzing machinery, technical documentation, and producing technical reports
  • Working with CE marking of machines, machine systems, and production lines
  • Participating in machinery safety projects – from risk assessment to commissioning
  • Conducting workshops and training sessions

AFRY Safety

You will become part of AFRY Safety, a team of approximately 150 colleagues spread across about 30 locations in Sweden. We work on varied assignments within machinery safety and related areas, from smaller initiatives to larger projects, where you will have the opportunity to develop based on your experience.

With us, you combine your own development with supporting our customers in ensuring safe and appropriate machine solutions. We value collaboration and diverse perspectives, offering an inclusive and professional environment where knowledge sharing is a natural part of everyday life. You will receive support from colleagues with broad competence in areas such as working environment, risk management, process safety, fire protection, as well as societal protection and preparedness – both in Sweden and in the Nordic region. We are One Team – where your competence is valued and joint efforts create value and solutions that truly make a difference.

The location is flexible. We have the possibility to hire in several locations in southern Sweden, such as Malmö, Helsingborg, Lund, Hässleholm, Kristianstad, Karlshamn, Halmstad, or Varberg. The role may involve travel within and outside Sweden.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least 2 years of experience working with machinery safety
  • Has knowledge of the Machinery Directive AFS 2023:4, 2006/42/EG
  • Has knowledge of user regulations such as AFS 2023:10, AFS 2023:11
  • Has a technical education at high school level and/or university level, or equivalent
  • Has skills in the Office package including SharePoint

Merits for the role if you have:

  • Knowledge of the new Machinery Regulation EU 2023/1230
  • Knowledge of EN ISO 12100, EN ISO 13849, EN ISO 11161, EN 61511
  • Knowledge of ATEX, PED, and/or Working Environment regulations
  • Some form of Engineering degree within mechanical, electrical, automation, or working environment
  • Certified specialist in the field according to CMSE (Certified Machinery Safety Expert), CECE (Certified Expert in CE Marking), or Machinery Safety Specialist
  • Skills in CAD/Design programs such as SolidWorks, Inventor (Autodesk), Siemens NX/CATIA, or similar.

To thrive with us, we believe you are a team player with a strong interest in technology and a desire to build relationships, both internally and with customers. You are solution-oriented, flexible, and thrive in a role where you handle multiple tasks in parallel. The role also involves responsibility for planning and structuring your work, managing budgets in your assignments, and ensuring deliveries within agreed timeframes. We are looking for someone who is curious, takes initiative, wants to develop, and wants to contribute to driving our work forward.

We value personal integrity, precision, and a genuine interest in technology. The role in machinery safety places high demands on clear and trust-building communication. Therefore, very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required. Knowledge of Danish, Norwegian, or German is a plus.

At AFRY, potential, engagement, and the right attitude are decisive. You do not need to meet all listed qualifications, but if you feel the role suits you and want to develop with us, we would very much like to receive your application.

If you want to be part of creating real value for both our customers and our team, this is the role for you.
