About the position

One of our two urban planners on the Strategic Unit is on parental leave. Therefore, we are now looking for a substitute for approximately one year.

We are looking for you who want to contribute to societal development in Kävlinge Municipality through strategic planning and investigative work. You will work together with experienced colleagues within physical planning, development, and nature conservation. During the substitute period, you may have the opportunity to work on assignments such as planning strategy, valuable cultural environments, social sustainability in the urban planning process, moving chains, energy planning, and retail planning.

Responsibilities

As an urban planner with us, you will continuously work with:

Regional and inter-municipal planning and overview planning, as well as the development of public transport and infrastructure.
Housing supply, statistics management, construction and population forecasts.
Preparing materials and coordinating planning and investigative projects.
Responding to consultations from the state and region and writing statements prior to political decisions.

You collaborate closely with colleagues on the unit and within the Urban Planning Sector, but also with other sectors in Kävlinge Municipality and external actors.

Requirements:

Preferably, you have worked or interned at a municipality or region within strategic urban planning. You have a university or college education with a focus relevant to the position:

Urban Planner
Urban Architect
Landscape Architect
Cultural Geography
Land Surveying or similar

Merits:

For the position, the following are considered merits:

Knowledge and practical experience of working with the Planning and Building Act.
Knowledge and experience of responding to consultations and writing statements, which requires good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
Experience in producing strategic plans, analyses, and materials, as well as working on preparing materials for decisions.
Experience acting as a project manager.
Experience and understanding of how a politically governed organization functions.
Skills in Excel, GIS, and Adobe programs.

About the employment

Interviews are expected to take place during the first weeks of August, with appointment as agreed.

The substitute position is at least from September 2026 to September 2027, but potentially through the end of 2027.

The Strategic Unit is one of five units within the Urban Planning Sector. The unit consists of eight dedicated employees with competence in urban planning, physical planning, nature conservation, and development. To thrive and work together towards common goals is important to us, with close interaction between our different competencies.

The Strategic Unit's mission is to plan for sustainable development in Kävlinge Municipality, with a focus on citizens' quality of life and a cohesive urban planning process. The work includes overview planning and other overarching strategic planning regarding the development of infrastructure, nature and water conservation, and designed living environments. The unit is also responsible for driving and managing detailed planning processes and development activities, which requires collaboration with all units in the sector to enable feasible detailed plans and purposeful development. Active management of the municipality's strategic land holdings also lies within the unit's responsibility.
