About the Learning and Culture Administration
The schools in Nybro Municipality aim to provide every child and student with the best conditions for success. In Nybro Municipality, children, students, and guardians are met by well-educated and dedicated educators, teachers, principals, and staff who all strive to create a safe school environment with education quality in focus.
The Culture Unit aims to give residents good access to culture and strengthen cultural associations so they can conduct a wide range of cultural activities. The Learning and Culture Administration in Nybro Municipality operates preschools, preschool classes, primary schools, adapted primary schools, school-age childcare, upper secondary schools, and municipal adult education including SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) and special education for adults. Within the administration, there is education in glass craftsmanship through the National Glass School in Pukeberg, as well as commissioned training and education within the university college.
The Learning and Culture Administration is also responsible for libraries, music and arts schools, a cultural center with a cinema, youth clubs, and general cultural issues. The administration has over 850 employees and an annual budget of approximately 580 million SEK. The administration is organized into business areas led by a business manager for each preschool, primary school, upper secondary school, adult education, and the culture unit. The administration is led by an administration director who is also the school principal.
About the Position
Do you want to help create conditions for every student to develop based on their unique strengths and needs? We are now looking for an engaged and competent special education teacher focusing on intellectual disability (ID) for our adapted primary school in Nybro.

Job Responsibilities
As a special education teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, following up, and developing teaching based on students' individual prerequisites and needs. The assignment includes:
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in several subjects.
- Serving as a mentor and creating safe and trusting relationships with students and guardians.
- Working together with colleagues to identify and develop students' strengths and meet their challenges.
- Mapping students' needs and designing extra adaptations and special support.
- Working with clear pedagogy, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and adaptations in the learning environment.
- Collaborating with student assistants, student health services, school leadership, and external partners, such as habilitation services.
- Documenting, assessing, and following up on students' knowledge development.
Qualifications and Merits
You are a licensed teacher with a special education degree focusing on intellectual disability.
We would like you to have:
- Experience working in adapted primary schools or similar operations.
- Knowledge of and experience with IBC (Intensive Behavioral Training).
- Experience with PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and other alternative communication methods.
- Experience using digital tools and pedagogical aids in teaching.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, as well as documentation according to current guidelines.
- Experience working with students with autism and/or ADHD (meritorious).
We would like you to be well acquainted with the school's steering documents and keep yourself updated within the special pedagogical field.
