Do you want meaningful tasks that make a difference in people's lives? Welcome to a municipality that is far from average!
The Technical and Property Administration is responsible for the municipality's premises, properties, and technical infrastructure – from planning new construction projects to operation, maintenance, and development. We work with water and sewage, facility cleaning, land services, transport, and vehicle services. Our goal is to build and manage sustainably and in a climate-smart way to ensure a safe and functional everyday life for the residents of Botkyrka. We are approximately 300 employees who, in our various roles, work on solutions based on citizens' needs and the municipality's common goals.
The Role and Responsibilities
Do you want to be part of developing and renewing Botkyrka's water and sewage network? We are now looking for a Supervising Planning Engineer who will be responsible for reinvestment and renewal projects within water and sewage operations.
In this role, you are responsible for driving reinvestment work from planning to the completed facility. You supervise work carried out in-house and coordinate resources, contractors, and materials to ensure efficient implementation. The work is done in close collaboration with operational staff, project managers, consultants, and other municipal operations.
Your main responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and implementation plans for reinvestment work
- Develop work preparations and risk assessments prior to production
- Order and coordinate materials, machinery, and contracting services
- Participate in construction and production meetings and follow up on ongoing work
- Handle contacts with property owners, authorities, and other external parties
- Ensure final documentation, as-built drawings, and handover to the administration
- Contribute to the development of working methods, renewal plans, and investment documentation
You play a central role in the operation, combining technical planning with supervision and follow-up. The role involves both administrative tasks and presence in the field, where you monitor progress and support production.
As a Supervising Planning Engineer, you will have the opportunity to help develop reinvestment activities. You will enter a stage where there are good opportunities to influence working methods, priorities, and structures for future reinvestment work, thereby contributing to the long-term sustainable development of the municipality's water and sewage infrastructure.
What We Offer You
With us, you will have a key role in developing and renewing Botkyrka's water and sewage network. You will have the opportunity to work close to the operations and follow reinvestment projects all the way from planning to the completed facility.
You will become part of an operation where collaboration, dialogue, and knowledge sharing are a natural part of everyday life.
We work closely together and value visible leadership where questions, ideas, and challenges are addressed in daily work. Here, you have good opportunities to influence both your assignment and the development of the operation.
Together, we are responsible for one of society's most important functions and contribute to a long-term sustainable water and sewage supply for the residents of Botkyrka.
You Who Apply to Us
You have post-secondary education in water and sewage, civil engineering, urban planning, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Alternatively, you have acquired corresponding knowledge through several years of work experience in water and sewage networks, civil engineering operations, or a similar area.
You have several years of experience working with water and sewage networks and experience in supervision, coordination, or equivalent responsibility. You also have experience planning, executing, and following up on work in a production or project environment.
Other requirements:
- Experience with excavation and pipeline contracting.
- Experience with budgeting, cost estimation, or project follow-up.
- Experience working with water and sewage pipe networks.
- Experience with production planning or resource planning.
- Experience with administrative work related to projects, production, or contracting operations.
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
- Experience producing documentation, basis materials, or reports in Swedish.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience with municipal water and sewage operations.
- Experience with GIS, water and sewage databases, or similar operational systems.
- Experience working according to AMA Construction standards.
- Knowledge of AB/ABT contracts and contract law.
- Education in BAS-P or BAS-U.
To succeed in this role, you need to be collaborative and have an easy time building good relationships with both colleagues and external partners. You work closely with operational staff, contractors, consultants, and other operations, which requires you to coordinate different perspectives and contribute to constructive collaboration to drive the work forward.
You are structured and result-oriented with the ability to plan, prioritize, and follow up on several activities simultaneously. The role involves responsibility for project progress, economy, and quality, which requires you to work systematically and focus on achieving set goals. At the same time, you are solution-oriented and can make well-founded decisions when conditions change or unexpected challenges arise in operations.
