A role with responsibility and a holistic perspective

As a parish priest, you are the theological leader, manager, and representative of the employer. You have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, working environment, and economy, and you act as a unifying link between employees, the management team, and the church council.

We are looking for a parish priest who leads with judgment and clear direction, is present in the operations, and fosters open dialogue. You make decisions even when issues are complex, follow up on goals, and work towards a sustainable working environment. With respect for both history and the future, you drive change and work transparently together with the church council and elected officials. You see the value of long-term vision work and parish development, and you have the ability to hold together a team with many different competencies.

Who are you?

You are a priest in the Church of Sweden and have completed, or plan to complete, the qualification-providing parish priest education.

If you are not yet qualified, we offer you the opportunity to be employed while you complete your qualification education. You have documented leadership experience and enjoy taking responsibility for the whole. As a person, you are secure in your role, build good relationships, and maintain focus even when the pace is high. You lead based on values and combine pastoral care with clear employer responsibility.

About Bodens Pastorate

Bodens Pastorate consists of four parishes around the municipality – both in the city center and in the countryside. Here, vibrant worship services, strong diaconal work, and activities for all ages are conducted. We have a dedicated staff group with broad competence and a stable economic foundation. Now, we want to strengthen our working methods and together shape a clear and sustainable direction for the future.

The Church in the Local Community

Bodens Pastorate is a natural and present actor in the local community. Through various projects and collaborations, we work closely with the municipality, associations, and other societal actors.

We are located in a region that is currently undergoing extensive societal transition. New industries are establishing themselves, the Swedish Armed Forces are growing, and people from both Sweden and the world are moving here. Conditions and Application
