In the role of Unit Manager, you will have the opportunity to help shape the university environments of the future. In close collaboration with our property owners, we work to create facilities that support cutting-edge education and research. Our role is to understand the operational needs, translate them into clear requirements, and drive the development of attractive, sustainable, and functional learning and research environments.
As Unit Manager for Facilities and Safety, you will lead a team of 8 people. The unit plays a central role in creating the best possible conditions for the university's education and research. We are responsible for facility supply as well as the development and management of systematic work environment work, with a focus on laboratory safety. Through our work, we contribute to safe, functional, and future-proof environments for students, researchers, and staff. The assignment also includes the university's systematic fire safety work.

Qualifications
- You have an academic degree in construction or property management. We prefer that you have previous management experience and have worked in a leadership role for at least 3–5 years within the field. You have broad experience from the property or construction industry and are well acquainted with the different stages of the construction process. You are accustomed to working on developing and improving processes and methods.
- As a person, you are self-driven, take initiative, and can inspire your team to perform their work. You are used to dialoguing with various types of operations and finding the best solutions together. You are curious, eager to learn new things, seek help from others, and learn from mistakes. Building trust both internally and externally is a prerequisite for developing and professionalizing the unit's methods.
- You have experience as a manager or leader at an operational level.
Meritorious experience:
- work environment responsibility or work environment work in a technical or laboratory operation
- experience as financially responsible for operations and projects
- contractual responsibility
- experience with property projects, especially working with customer requirement specification in the early stages of projects
To thrive in the role, you need an interest in developing working methods in collaboration with core operations/customers, employees, as well as property owners/suppliers. Personal suitability is highly valued.
Scope and Location
We are looking for a Unit Manager for a permanent full-time position located in Luleå. Probationary period may apply.
