About the position

As some of our colleagues are starting their studies, an opportunity has opened up to work as an assistant nurse with us! Hjälmaren and Kvismaren home care services are two units that both operate from our newly renovated premises at Askenäs special housing in Odensbacken. Around 50 employees with high competence and long experience work here in well-functioning teams where we care for each other.

Our area covers all of Östernärke, including Odensbacken, Stora Mellösa, and Kilsmo. Sometimes you travel to customers by car, sometimes by bicycle or on foot, and sometimes by ferry across Lake Hjälmaren.

As an assistant nurse, you have a coordinated responsibility for support, service, and care interventions for our customers. In your daily work, you plan, carry out, and follow up on these interventions. We collaborate closely with nurses, occupational therapists, administrators, and unit managers. Regardless of role, we work for the customer's needs with person-centered care and support, and are responsible for ensuring the work maintains good quality.

Examples of tasks:

• perform care tasks and, based on delegation, handle certain medications
• perform service tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping
• plan and develop work independently and together with the work group
• collaborate with relatives and others in the customer's network, such as nurses and occupational therapists
• document regularly in the organization's documentation system and review existing documentation
• create and follow up on implementation plans together with the customer
• have knowledge of and follow the organization's current laws, policies, and routines

About the workplace

Hjälmaren home care and Kvismaren home care are two units operating from Askenäs special housing in Odensbacken, approximately three miles east of Örebro. We share premises and have close collaboration regarding, among other things, staffing. This means that as an employee, you are employed at one of the units but may have work shifts at both units. Of course, you will receive an introduction to both units.

In total, we are about 50 employees assisting customers throughout Östernärke, such as in Odensbacken, Stora Mellösa, and Kilsmo. Bus connections to get here are available on weekdays, but during weekends you need to get to work in another way as public transport is limited.

The Care and Support Area is part of the Social Services Administration. The operations cover care and support, preventive activities, authority functions in the area, as well as housing placement and home adaptations. Within the Care and Support Area, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As an assistant nurse with us, you are a confident and stable person. You have the ability to meet customers and relatives in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating. Since the work is largely performed independently, you need to be proactive and responsible while also being receptive, unpretentious, and able to collaborate well with others. Furthermore, you have a positive view of humanity with great respect for each individual's specific needs. Additionally, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes.

You master the Swedish language sufficiently to communicate with our customers and other staff, as well as to document in writing as required by the operations. As the work involves digital documentation in operational systems, good computer skills are required.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• proof of protected professional title, or alternatively covered by transitional rules (permanent assistant nurse on July 1, 2023)
• Category B driver's license

Scope and start date

Employment type: Permanent employment

Working hours: 100%

Start date: September 1, 2026 or by agreement

Number of positions: 5-6. The positions are filled subject to necessary decisions being made.

Working hours: Scheduled day, evening, and every other weekend

Other information

As of July 1, 2023, assistant nurse is a protected professional title. This means you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as an assistant nurse. While waiting for your certificate, it is possible to be employed as a care assistant. However, if you had a permanent employment as an assistant nurse on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
