Study and Career Counselor for the Project 'Strengthened Language and Secure Transitions'
In the City of Mölndal, we are proud to have Sweden's most important job, where we together create the best possible everyday life for our citizens. With knowledge, courage, and creativity, we develop our operations and contribute to making Mölndal an even better place to live and work. Welcome to make a difference in people's daily lives every day!
Guidance & Competence Mölndal is responsible for study and career guidance within all school forms in the City of Mölndal. We are a committed and development-oriented unit where collaboration, quality, and the student's future are at the center.
We are now looking for a study and career counselor for a three-year project, Strengthened Language and Secure Transitions. The project aims to create safer pathways to working life for adult students by reducing the gap between education and the labor market. Through early, frequent, and individualized counseling interventions, we strengthen the students' opportunities to make well-founded study and career choices and achieve sustainable integration into society.
Here, you will become part of a competent SYV (Study and Career Counselor) team that meets regularly for experience sharing, competence development, and joint development work. We offer a workplace characterized by commitment, collaboration, and the desire to make a difference.
Responsibilities
As a study and career counselor, you will work at the Adult Education SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) in close collaboration with the principal, teachers, and other professionals. You will guide students through the Swedish education system and support them on their path to further studies and work.
Within the framework of the project Strengthened Language and Secure Transitions, you will work with early and individualized counseling interventions directly within the SFI operations. You will strengthen the students' decision-making competence, contribute to broadening perspectives on education and career choices, and support them in making well-founded decisions about their future.
An important part of the assignment is collaboration with teachers, the Labor Market Unit (AME), and other actors to create coherent and sustainable transitions to studies and working life.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are engaged, clear, and have good knowledge of counseling methods. You should be able to inspire and stimulate students to handle decision-making situations and broaden students' perspectives by challenging their assumptions about the future.
- You are trained as a study and career counselor and have an approach based on current research and evaluation in the planning and implementation of the interventions offered to students.
- It is desirable that you have experience from adult education as it facilitates your work with us.
- You must want to work with the SFI group, as this position works 100% with these students.
- You have social skills and are outgoing. You create contacts and maintain relationships. You have empathetic abilities and a willingness to help others, working to guide towards solutions.
- You are good at communicating and working in a way that creates participation. You are secure and have a humanistic value base and a holistic view of the student.
- You have the ability to prioritize and plan your work so that you achieve desired results.
- You enjoy working in a team, are involved in the work group's activities, and wish to develop together.
Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
