About the Job

Do you want to help create safety, structure, and good conditions for students in lower secondary school? We are now looking for 1–2 elev assistants for the Summer School (Grades 7–9) in Uddevalla. These are fixed-term full-time positions for the academic year 2026/2027.

The role primarily involves working closely with a student group (or individual student) during the school day, focusing on safety, motivation, structure, and participation in teaching. You will become an important part of the school's work in creating good learning environments where students have the opportunity to develop both academically and socially.

The Summer School is a Grades 7–9 school focusing on safety, study environment, and increased goal achievement. The school also works with IBIS (Inclusive Behavioral Support in Schools) as support in creating safe and positive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide pedagogical support and help young people with their studies.
• Support students during the school day, both in teaching and in other school situations.
• Work in a motivating, safety-creating, and structured manner based on the student's needs and prerequisites.
• Contribute to supporting the student in participating in teaching, following routines, and developing independence.
• Collaborate closely with teaching teachers, work teams, student health services, school management, and guardians.
• Participate in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of support measures and adaptations.

• Is secure and relationship-building when meeting with young people, creating trust through a clear adult role.
• Has a calm, low-affective, and solution-oriented approach.
• Can create structure, motivation, and effective strategies for students in need of support.
• Is flexible and responsible in a school day where needs may change based on given directives and tasks.
• Has good collaboration skills and wants to work closely with teachers, student health services, and other staff.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience working in schools, as an elev assistant, or in another pedagogical support role.
• Good ability to meet students based on different needs, prerequisites, and situations.
• Ability to create structure, motivation, and safety in students' school days.
• Good collaboration skills in contact with students, colleagues, guardians, and student health services.
• Sufficient subject knowledge to be confident in providing pedagogical support during the school day.

Other Information

The position involves 1–2 fixed-term full-time (100%) appointments during the academic year 2026/2027. Start date is by agreement (August).

Selection and interviews may be paused during the summer holiday and resumed in August. The position may be filled urgently. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
