Kalmarsunds Gymnasieförbund is a municipal association responsible for operating and developing upper secondary education and municipal adult education for the member municipalities of Borgholm, Kalmar, Mönsterås, Mörbylånga, and Torsås. We have approximately 4,000 students and 600 employees distributed across our five schools.

About the Workplace

Ölands Educational Center is one of the schools within Kalmarsunds Gymnasieförbund. It is a pleasant school encompassing several different educational activities. We offer adult education in the form of vocational training in areas such as kitchen and restaurant services, care and nursing, childcare assistant/student assistant, courses at the compulsory school level and upper secondary level, as well as Swedish for Immigrants (SFI). In total, we have 270 students and 20 staff members.

Responsibilities

As a Study and Career Counselor at Ölands Educational Center, you will actively work with guidance for our students in SFI, adapted adult education, basic adult education, and Komvux (Adult Education Center) at the upper secondary level. The work involves student contact through guidance interviews, both individually and in groups. You inform about different educational paths and professions, and support the student in the guidance process.

As a Study and Career Counselor, you collaborate closely with the principal, teachers, special education needs coordinators, and administration. The work includes cooperation with authorities, the business community, as well as other municipalities and educational providers within our primary area of cooperation. The position also involves some marketing of the school's educational programs.

Qualifications

The position requires that you have:

• A degree in Study and Career Counseling (SYV).
• Knowledge of education within municipal adult education.
• Knowledge of the labor market and its needs.
• Good knowledge of regulations and ordinances.
• Strong administrative skills.
• The ability to express yourself clearly in both speech and writing, as well as strong communication skills.

We prefer that you have experience in adult education. As a person, you are collaborative, sensitive to students' needs and wishes, see opportunities in difficulties, are flexible, and can work both independently and together with other professions. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Important Information

Recruitment is ongoing. Before an offer of employment is made, a satisfactory extract from the police record for work in schools must be presented. To strengthen Kalmarsunds Gymnasieförbund's ability to operate under heightened readiness, all permanent staff will be assigned to wartime duties. The position is filled on the condition that it does not need to be taken over by surplus staff or that required political decisions are made.
