The Child and Education Department in Vimmerby Municipality is responsible for all pedagogical activities, from preschool to university level, and is also responsible for Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) and civic orientation for newly arrived refugees. Our common goal is that Vimmerby Municipality's children and young people should get the best conditions to meet the future and develop into creative, curious, and secure individuals.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a special educator for our resource center. As a special educator, your focus lies on teaching, assessment, and development. Through teaching students individually, in groups, or in classes, you contribute to students achieving as high a level of goal fulfillment as possible based on their capacity. Special educators assist teachers in conducting screenings and analyze the results in collaboration with special needs pedagogues.

As a special educator, you contribute to increased teaching quality through mentoring staff. You identify risks that may lead to difficulties in the student's learning and knowledge development, and design preventive and promoting measures. You assist teachers in the work with pedagogical assessments. Together with colleagues at the resource center, you analyze students' knowledge development and provide teachers with suggestions for measures and changes. Your task is to create the best opportunities for students, guardians, and colleagues to thrive, feel secure, and receive a good education tailored to the students' needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• are a certified teacher with a special educator degree (a special needs pedagogy degree may be considered equivalent in combination with other qualifications)
• are well-versed in the primary school curriculum
• have experience supporting teachers in assessment and grading
• have experience mentoring teachers

We consider it an advantage if you have previous experience in special educator roles.
