About the position

As a nursing assistant, you have a coordinated responsibility where you plan, carry out, and follow up on daily work. You work in a team together with colleagues with different competencies, where we always have the individual's specific needs and interests at the center. We work with a rehabilitative approach and person-centered care where the tenant's needs, wishes, and abilities determine the goals of rehabilitation. In your role, you will, together with the team, be responsible for the care and support of our tenants. You will work in close collaboration with nurses, occupational therapists, and unit managers.

For us, quality and good care are important, and as an employee, you are expected to contribute to and participate in our development work. Together we are responsible for ensuring that the work maintains good quality and that we follow the guidelines and decisions that come with the assignment.

Examples of tasks:

• support the tenant in daily activities/occupations in a pedagogical way
• be responsible for finding suitable activities/tasks in consultation with the tenant and developing them based on their needs
• perform care tasks and, based on delegation, some medication management
• perform service tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping
• plan and develop work independently and together with the work group
• draw up and follow goal plans, routine descriptions, and action plans together with the tenant
• collaborate with relatives and others in the tenant's network such as nurses, occupational therapists, and other actors, e.g., the region
• document regularly in the operation's documentation system and review existing documentation
• draw up and follow up on implementation plans
• have knowledge of and follow the operation's current laws, policies, and routines

About the workplace

Ängen opened in 2011 and is located in Ladugårdsängen, close to green areas, a golf course, and the city center. In the same building, besides the special housing, there is a health center, a memory clinic, day rehabilitation, group housing, a family center, senior housing, and physiotherapy. Ängen's special housing consists of 56 apartments distributed over four departments, two departments focused on somatics and two departments focused on cognitive impairment.

The Care and Support Area is part of the Social Administration. The operations cover care and support, preventive activities, authority activities in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the Care and Support Area, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As a nursing assistant with us, you are a secure and stable person. You have the ability to meet tenants in a professional way by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. Being responsible for your tasks is a matter of course for you. You collaborate well with others and relate to them in a listening and flexible manner. Furthermore, you have a positive view of people with great respect for each individual's specific needs. Additionally, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You master the Swedish language to such an extent that you can communicate with the tenant and other staff, as well as document in writing what the operation requires. Since the work involves digital documentation in the operation system, good computer skills are required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• certificate of protected professional title, or alternatively covered by transitional rules (permanent nursing assistant on July 1, 2023)

Other information

From July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as a nursing assistant. While waiting for your certificate, it is possible to be employed as a care assistant. However, if you had a permanent employment as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
