We are now looking for an engaged and strategic Section Manager for Maintenance for our production unit in Björkborn, Karlskoga. This position is an expansion of our organization, meaning you will join an already established maintenance structure with several existing sections and play a key role in our continued development.
Your role
As Section Manager for Maintenance, you will have a central and business-critical role in ensuring high availability, operational reliability, and long-term development of our production equipment.
You will become part of a larger maintenance area where several sections collaborate, which requires good cooperation skills and a holistic perspective on operations. Together with the other sections within maintenance, you will lead and develop the maintenance operations in Björkborn, Karlskoga, where we conduct advanced manufacturing in a technically complex and expanding environment.
The role involves close collaboration with production, engineering, and other support functions to create conditions for a safe, stable, and efficient operation. You will be a key driver in developing maintenance strategies, improving working methods, and strengthening our operational capability.
The maintenance organization consists of maintenance technicians, automation technicians, and maintenance engineers. In this role, you will:
- Lead, coach, and develop employees while fostering a culture characterized by responsibility, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement a long-term maintenance strategy that ensures high plant availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and quality-assure processes, working methods, and system support within the maintenance area.
- Ensure structured and proactive work with preventive and condition-based maintenance.
- Serve as a strategic partner to production and ensure fast and high-quality support during corrective maintenance.
- Identify areas for improvement, analyze root causes, and drive actions that strengthen the operation's reliability and productivity.
- Actively contribute to a strong safety culture where safety is always the top priority.
- Participate in investments, development projects, and future-proofing of production equipment and facilities.

We would appreciate if you have experience leading organizations in change and are driven by developing both people and processes.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
- Relevant university education in engineering, production, maintenance, or equivalent work experience.
- Several years of leadership experience, preferably within maintenance, industrial production, or technical operations.
- Experience driving improvement work and developing processes in a production-oriented environment.
- Good understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance as well as maintenance control.
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- A high level of safety awareness and a willingness to contribute to a strong safety culture.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current regulations for security clearance. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
