About the role

As a Production Engineer, you serve as the crucial link between product development and production. You will be part of AFRY's section in Örebro and work closely with their clients to optimize processes ranging from telecommunications to the defense industry. You will join a dynamic internal team of 12 people with diverse competencies in mechanics, project management, and embedded development.

Responsibilities

The role involves working on short-term and long-term assignments, with broad responsibility for optimizing and developing manufacturing processes, from the early design phase to final production, focusing on quality and efficiency.

• Develop production layouts and design tools for efficient manufacturing
• Responsible for the acquisition and introduction of production equipment
• Conduct drawing reviews and ensure product manufacturability
• Work with preparation, method selection, and machine capacity analyses
• Drive and implement improvement work according to Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma
• Create quality control documentation such as FMEA
• Introduce new products into production and optimize manufacturing flows

We are looking for someone who has

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Economics, or equivalent
• Good knowledge of CAD and reading drawings
• Good knowledge of quality control documentation such as FMEA
• Experience in production engineering work and quality documentation
• Very good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Valid driver's license (Category B)

It is an advantage if you have

• Six Sigma certification
• Experience in toolmaking, time studies, or VSM (Value Stream Mapping)
• Practical mechanical background or hands-on experience
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean methodology
