The Community Development Administration comprises the departments of Technology and Service, Culture and Leisure, the Public Health Unit, as well as the Building and Environment department, which is currently being established. Currently, approximately 90 employees work in the Community Development Administration.

For some positions, we require an extract from the criminal record register and presentation of a B-driver's license. A valid ID must be presented if you are called for an interview.

Do you want to help shape the society of the future?

We are now looking for a Master Architect/Urban Planner who wants to contribute to developing the physical environment and creating attractive places for those who live, work, and visit the municipality. In this role, you will primarily work with detailed planning, while also contributing your expertise to comprehensive and strategic planning issues.

This is an outward-facing role with many contact points, where dialogue, service, and good treatment are central. You play an important function in meetings with both developers and citizens, and contribute to finding ways forward in issues where different interests need to be balanced.

Job Responsibilities

As a Master Architect/Urban Planner, you work with the entire detailed planning process - from early investigations to finished plans. You have a central role in developing the municipality's physical environment and creating thoughtful and well-functioning solutions.

The assignment includes, for example:

  • processing and preparing detailed plans according to the Planning and Building Act
  • driving and coordinating detailed planning processes
  • working with design and shaping of good environments
  • conducting investigations related to land use, built environment, and infrastructure
  • preparing analyses, decision support materials, and presentations
  • participating in comprehensive planning and other strategic planning issues
  • contributing to the development of guidelines and steering documents
  • participating in development and expansion projects.

You coordinate planning processes and promote good dialogue with various stakeholders. In your work, you collaborate closely with:

  • developers
  • citizens
  • internal operations
  • consultants
  • authorities.

The role involves many contacts and requires you to work actively with dialogue, guidance, and accessibility throughout the entire planning process.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • relevant higher education or university degree in physical planning, architecture, or equivalent
  • experience in detailed planning
  • good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act.

Experience and Knowledge

We would appreciate it if you have experience with:

  • working in public sector operations
  • leading or coordinating planning processes
  • and the ability to prepare analyses and decision support materials.

Furthermore, you need to be structured, team-oriented, and have a holistic perspective. You thrive in a role with many contact points and have a genuine interest in dialogue, service, and customer care. You have the ability to handle goal conflicts in a balanced and professional manner, weigh together different interests, and contribute to solutions that work in practice. You can explain complex issues in a clear, pedagogical, and accessible way.
