Your Role

As a Strategic Buyer at Component Maintenance & Test Equipment (CMTE), you will become part of the procurement organization where you will be commercially responsible for the procurement of products and services for the department's various programs and projects. In this role, you ensure cost-effective and quality-assured strategies and procurement of products and services. We work closely with the marketing department, technology, quality, and colleagues in other parts of Saab.

Key responsibilities include:

• Issuing requests for quotation (RFQs) and handling bids
• Developing existing business with suppliers to find optimal and cost-effective maintenance capabilities
• Conducting cost analyses and continuously identifying and finding cost savings
• Negotiating, developing, and managing supplier agreements
• Leading negotiations (including contract signing)
• Driving/working in cross-functional teams

You will maintain supplier relationships and develop business relationships with our key suppliers, while continuously evaluating existing and potential new suppliers.

Component Maintenance & Test Equipment is part of the Business Unit BU Aviation Services, which delivers support solutions spanning the entire lifecycle of the Gripen aircraft. The solutions vary, implying continuous dialogue with our suppliers and updating our contracts to meet new customer requirements. Our customers are located globally.

You will become part of a procurement department consisting of 10 colleagues working within strategic procurement and supplier development. Your workplace will be in Linköping. Travel, both within Sweden and globally, may occur as part of the role.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is business-minded and has several years of experience in strategic procurement with both national and international suppliers. You have extensive experience in negotiations, contract writing, and developing and nurturing supplier relationships. We also expect you to have a university education in procurement, engineering, or economics/law – or alternatively have equivalent documented experience in qualified procurement. A strong interest in technology, as well as experience with aftermarket agreements and their processes, is considered an asset.

As a person, you are unpretentious, driven, and proactive, capable of leading yourself and others in the right direction to achieve set goals and results. This requires a good ability to structure your work and be flexible in your thinking. Your close collaboration with colleagues and other departments also presupposes a good team spirit and a well-developed ability to collaborate.

As you will be working in an international environment, proficiency in both English and Swedish, both spoken and written, is required. You must be able to communicate and draft contracts, business letters, and other correspondence in a professional manner. Proficiency in any other language is an advantage.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
