Are you ready to take on new challenges within administration and work with placement cases in Västerås Municipality? We are now looking for two dedicated case handlers for our Placement and School Transport Department.

Our department belongs to the Child and Education Administration. We are responsible for exercising authority in handling placements for children and students in preschools, primary schools, and after-school centers, as well as processing school transport applications. With 13 case handlers with different competencies under one roof, we offer an environment characterized by collegial learning and collaboration.

We strive to be a flexible workplace where cross-boundary work is encouraged. There are also opportunities for cross-unit collaborations, such as cooperation with the unit for digitalization and development, principals, and economic managers. Our home is in the City Hall.

Your responsibilities

We are now looking for reinforcement within placement to primary schools, preschools, and after-school centers. As a case handler, your main tasks will be handling applications for placements in primary schools, preschools, and after-school centers, which also includes a certain part of system administration. It is crucial that you have the ability to navigate through complex processes and regulations, as this constitutes a large part of the tasks.

To thrive in the role, you are interested in driving development work and streamlining processes. You should be flexible and enjoy change, as the position may evolve over time. A curious and exploratory attitude is also important to handle new challenges and opportunities that may arise in the work.

Your qualifications

The position requires a relevant university degree, preferably in pedagogy. You have previous experience in administering and handling various types of cases in digital systems. In addition, it is of great importance that you possess very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both in speech and writing. This is crucial for being able to communicate effectively and handle various documents and regulations in your assignment. If you have previous experience in pedagogical work and knowledge of the Education Act, it is seen as a plus.

Before you can be employed, we conduct a register check and you need to present an approved extract from the police register. During the advertising period, the recruiting manager is reachable for questions via email.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of residence together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
