Description

The foster care operations on Hisingen currently consist of two units. You will belong to Unit 1, which, in addition to the emergency care group, has two groups working with contact and support as well as the recruitment of permanent foster homes. Unit 2 works with follow-up of permanent placements in foster homes.

The group you will lead includes six emergency care secretaries. The main task is to meet the need for emergency foster homes and to provide our emergency foster carers with the support, education, and supervision they need to perform their duties in the best possible way.

Responsibilities

The role involves leading and distributing work, acting as a specialist, supporting case workers with prioritization in daily work, and working towards the goal of being able to work independently. In this role, you will also work closely with the unit manager on the development of the unit.

You will also introduce new case workers to the work, perform statistical follow-ups, and implement new working methods. It is important that you have the ability to work towards creating a good working environment in the group you are responsible for. You will be responsible for reviewing case handling based on current legislation and guidelines. You will read written materials and provide feedback to case workers on submitted documents. In addition to guiding your work group, you will approve and interpret investigations regarding new foster homes.

You will collaborate with other first-level social secretaries at the unit and within the Hisingen Social Administration, as well as other supervisors within the foster care units in the City of Gothenburg.

Requirements

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work with at least 4 years of experience within foster care services or within the child and youth authority. Education in the Kälvesten Model is a requirement. Other education related to supervision of service users, such as ICDP, is meritorious.

The Hisingen Social Administration is part of the social services in the City of Gothenburg. We are one of four social administrations. We work purposefully to create a better everyday life for the residents of Hisingen.
