Welcome to Väskinde School! We are a two-stream school located just north of Visby, where approximately 260 students attend and around 45 staff members work. Here, you will work as a special needs educator alongside a positive and creative team, supported by a strong student health team. Teachers and after-school staff work closely together in good collaboration, and we have an open and supportive atmosphere.
At Väskinde School, we have high qualifications among our teachers, we learn from each other, and we place a strong emphasis on collegial learning. Since the spring term of 2026, we have been a certified Generation PEP school, which means we focus heavily on movement and health. Our teachers actively work with PAX in lower grades (where we are also working towards certification) and MVP in middle grades, all to create a better working environment for both students and teachers.
Your Responsibilities
Your duties include, among other things, investigating students' needs for special support following decisions by the Student Health Team (SHT), as well as drafting and evaluating action plans. You may need to mentor colleagues, provide special support or teaching, and perform other tasks aimed at ensuring all students reach their full potential in their knowledge development.
In your role as a special needs educator, you are responsible for the overall special needs work within the school area. You will work closely with our special teachers and other competencies within the student health team to develop the school's student health work. You will collaborate closely with the principal and have a portion of the position dedicated to leadership support with personnel responsibility.
Who are you?
You are trained as a special needs educator and/or a special teacher. Experience in leadership support and personnel management is advantageous. You are a licensed teacher at your core.
It is also advantageous if you have completed LOGOS training and training in conducting SIP (Student Investigation Plans).
We are looking for an engaged, structured, and experienced special needs educator who wants to contribute to ensuring all students receive the support they need to succeed in school. As a special needs educator with us, you will work closely with students and colleagues. You are skilled at building relationships with guardians and feel secure in collaborating with external contacts such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), Habilitation Services (HAB), and social services.
We warmly welcome your application!
