The Workplace

The Community Development Administration has a wide-ranging operation including the units of streets/parks, water and sewage, planning and building, property, catering, as well as local maintenance and associated administrative services.

Within the catering operations, we are responsible for several different kitchens in the municipality, ranging from school kitchens to elderly care kitchens. This position is located within the resource pool, which means you can staff all kitchens based on vacancies and needs.

We cook all food from scratch as much as possible, bake our own bread, and work to use as much locally grown and Swedish products as possible, as well as reducing food waste and CO2e.

Job Responsibilities

As a chef in the resource pool, you work in several of our kitchens and cover both planned and urgent vacancies. The work involves duties on weekdays as well as weekends.

Your main tasks consist of cooking, special diet and diet cooking, food handling, and daily production planning. You also participate in the planning, development, and follow-up of the operations to ensure a well-functioning meal service.

The role also includes responsibility for the daily staffing of substitutes as well as planning and coordination of the resource pool's work. Leadership tasks may occur as needed.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a chef education at the upper secondary level or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have documented experience working in a large kitchen or restaurant kitchen, and it is meritorious if you have knowledge of diet cooking and HACCP.

You have good computer skills as the work involves handling orders, staffing planning, and working in various digital systems. Experience in leadership or coordinating tasks is meritorious.

As a person, you have a genuine interest in food and meals. You are flexible, service-oriented, and thrive in a role where working days vary and where you quickly need to adapt to new workplaces and situations. You have good cooperation skills while also being able to work independently and take responsibility for your tasks.

You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. This is a prerequisite for you to be able to follow kitchen instructions and HACCP plans, as well as communicate with colleagues, customers, and other partners.

You should have experience in planning, coordinating, or leading operations and feel confident in making decisions in daily work.
