Scandic Göteborg Central is located in a new city district emerging from the former container port, right at the bridgehead of the new Hisingsbron and a stone's throw from the Central Station. The hotel is one of Scandic's largest, with 451 rooms and a large meeting section. On-site facilities include a lobby bar, café, and a lovely rooftop bar and restaurant with views of the entrance to Gothenburg Harbour. We are now looking for a Head Waiter for our Conference & Banquet department

What does the role of Head Waiter Conference & Banquet entail?

As a Head Waiter with us, you are one of the first people the guest meets. Therefore, it is crucial that you have a warm demeanor, are attentive to details, and focus on the guest's needs. You have a burning interest in food and beverage and enjoy order and structure, both in your own work and that of your colleagues. All of this is to provide our guests with a fantastic experience.

In this role, you work primarily in operations. You lead and distribute tasks and handle staffing during your shifts. A key part of the job is planning and executing banquets and events. You work independently and in close collaboration with the responsible manager. Working hours vary, but a significant portion of the time is scheduled for evenings and sometimes weekends.

If needed, you are given the opportunity to train new employees at the hotel, and you assist with certain administrative tasks such as orders and checking delivery notes.

In the role of Head Waiter, you are responsible for the hospitality of the entire hotel, both towards guests and employees. In addition to being part of the operations, you have overall responsibility for prioritizing tasks so that the business runs smoothly and guests are satisfied.

Who are you?

To fit the role, we believe you have at least two years of experience in similar work and experience in concept-driven operations. You have both the ability and willingness to work with a hands-on leadership style. You are confident in your leadership and have integrity and sales drive. Most importantly, however, are your personal qualities and attitude. To fit the role, you need to be a good team player who takes great responsibility for your tasks and the overall result. It is also important that you can convey good hospitality to the hotel's guests.

Information about the position:

The position is a permanent employment at 80%, and we apply a 6-month probation period.
