The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Care in Malmö operates on a regional level with the target group of children and young people up to 18 years old. Specialized inpatient care is provided on three wards and an emergency department, all of which are open 24/7. Ward 1 has seven care beds for patients with serious and complex child psychiatric problems. The work group consists of nurses, assistant nurses, family therapists, doctors, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, coordinators, secretaries, and unit manager.

Job Description

Being a nurse at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) inpatient ward 1 means you have overall responsibility for nursing care for inpatients. The role also includes being a team leader responsible for leading and distributing work on the ward.

On the ward, we offer highly specialized care to children and young people with various child psychiatric conditions such as mood disorders, self-harm behavior, suicidality, and post-traumatic difficulties, where there is a need to stabilize the psychiatric condition. Often, there is a complex problem with comorbidity. Our mission is to raise the patient's functional level so they can benefit from continued care in our outpatient services. We work to ensure a patient-centered focus, and our goal is that the patient never needs to be cared for in inpatient care longer than the condition requires, which makes early collaboration with external actors such as neighboring care providers, social services, and schools important. On the unit, we work based on standardized care processes (SVP).

As a new nurse, it is important to us that you feel secure in your professional role at your new workplace, and therefore you are assigned a mentor and offered supervision every other week. The activity also has regular lectures within the child psychiatric knowledge area and introductory training for newly hired employees within the region.

Working hours are scheduled and include day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with permission to work in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement. If you have specialist education in psychiatry, we see it as meritorious. Also, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) step 1, DBT, and experience of child and adolescent psychiatric work are a great advantage, as is experience with the documentation system Melior.

To succeed in the role, we would like you to be a treatment-oriented person with a strong patient focus. You have good cooperation skills, flexibility, and broad cultural competence. We assume that you are a responsible and mature person with good communication skills, who functions well in both independent and cross-team work. Since we are keen on finding the right person for the assignment, great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
