Do you want to work close to production and be a key person in daily quality work? We are now looking for a structured and meticulous Quality Technician who wants to take a central role in ensuring that our products meet the absolute highest standards. This is an opportunity for you who thrive in a practical, varied role with many interfaces – and who want to contribute to quality-assuring world-leading defense technology.

About the company

BAE Systems Bofors is a high-tech company that develops and integrates advanced weapon systems. With approximately 700 employees in Karlskoga, Karlstad, and Örebro, we are a national resource with unique expertise in artillery pieces, naval guns, ammunition, and remotely operated weapon systems. We operate in a global context and work closely with both local and international partners.

About the position

As a Quality Technician, you are the first point of contact for quality issues in production. You work closely with assemblers, quality engineers, and other colleagues within Operations to quickly capture, analyze, and drive quality cases forward. The role is central to maintaining stable flows and secure quality in our products.

You will have a practical and operational role where you handle quality deviations and ensure that the correct documentation and procedures are followed. BAE Systems is in a strong growth phase, and the team now needs to be expanded with 2 additional colleagues to meet an increasing production rate – which means you will enter a situation where you can truly contribute and have significant influence in the daily quality work.

Your main responsibilities

In the role, you will among other things:

  • Handle quality cases arising in production together with assembly personnel.
  • Perform an initial analysis of internal and external deviations.
  • Describe and quality-assure handover to quality engineers.
  • Check and determine the extent of deviations.
  • Be responsible for quarantine cages and ensure progress in deviation cases.
  • Be responsible for trial assembly.
  • Handle and compile gun folders according to current directives prior to delivery.
  • Ensure calibration validity for equipment used in quality work.
  • Participate in risk analyses and production reviews.

You will get a role where you work close to the product, close to the people, and close to the quality processes, and where your work is directly visible in the final product result.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are structured, meticulous, and thrive in a practical role with many interfaces. You need to be able to build trust with assemblers and the production team, while handling documentation and following up on deviations with high precision.

We believe you have:

  • Post-secondary education with a technical focus, or other background assessed as equivalent.
  • Experience from quality work or similar roles within production or assembly.
  • Good ability to document, analyze, and work in a structured manner.
  • A genuine interest in quality and improvement work.

It is meritorious if you have worked in a manufacturing industry or with deviation management, but most important is your meticulousness, teamwork skills, and desire to develop within quality.

BAE Systems offers

BAE Systems Bofors is part of a large corporation, which can create opportunities for international experience during your employment. As an employee, you are offered programs for personal development and ongoing training if you have ambitions to grow both personally and professionally. To help you get into the role, you are assigned a mentor from day one who will provide support and with whom you can bounce challenges and ideas.

We want you to thrive both at and outside of work, which is why we focus on areas that contribute to you finding a good balance in life, for example through generous flextime. You will have the opportunity to participate in our pleasant activities organized by our skilled and engaged health inspirers, and you can also visit our newly built gym. Our family-like atmosphere contributes to high well-being, which also creates added value for you and your family.
