Do you have experience in pediatric care and are looking for a developmental role within day care? We are expanding our operations and are now looking for an engaged nurse who wants to contribute to the highly specialized care for children and young people with blood or immune deficiency diseases. Welcome to become part of our team!

What we offer

  • A day shift position in a multidisciplinary team with a work environment where we develop care together.
  • Individually tailored introduction of up to seven weeks.

Naturally, you will also benefit from our general benefits offered by Karolinska University Hospital.

About the position

On our highly specialized day care department, you work in a team together with experienced nurses, assistant nurses, doctors, dietitians, social workers, and sibling supporters. Here we receive children and young people between the ages of 0 and 18 with chronic and/or complex blood and immune deficiency diseases, as well as children before and after stem cell transplantation.

After many years in the operation, one of our appreciated colleagues is now retiring. We are therefore looking for a new nurse who wants to become part of our engaged team and contribute to the highly specialized care for children and young people with blood and immune deficiency diseases.

The department is open on weekdays during the day, and we have close cooperation with the inpatient department. Your tasks include, among other things, blood sampling, medication treatment, telephone advice, handling referrals and waiting lists, as well as preparations for examinations. Since many of our patients live with chronic diseases, the role also involves close cooperation with and support for parents and other relatives.

We are looking for you who

  • Have a great interest in working with children and young people and take the initiative to develop in your role as a nurse.
  • Take responsibility for your tasks, structure your work independently, and see collaboration without hierarchy as a natural part of the working day.
  • Make thoughtful assessments and prioritizations in a complex work environment and show good judgment in your decisions.
  • Are empathetic and create security through an attentive and professional approach to children, young people, and their relatives.
  • Work well together with other professions and contribute to good cooperation to give patients the best possible care.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse.

Merits:

  • At least two years of experience in pediatric care.
  • Specialist education in children and youth.
  • Experience in pediatric hematology.
  • Experience in day care medicine.
