We are now looking for a Research Engineer in Soft Electronics with a focus on the synthesis of gold nanowires, located at the Department of Science and Technology.
About the job
Your tasks will consist of research and development regarding the synthesis of gold nanowires, intended for use in flexible electrodes. The research involves developing and characterizing the synthesis of gold nanowires, as well as evaluating flexible electrodes in collaboration with other researchers.
About you
We are looking for you who have a Master's degree in chemistry, materials science, or another suitable field. Furthermore, you should have experience in the synthesis of gold nanomaterials, and experience in the synthesis of gold nanowires is meritorious.
Research at LOE is conducted primarily in English in an international environment, so good proficiency in English is a requirement. As a person, you are flexible and independent, but you also thrive when working in a team.
For this position, we will place great emphasis on personal qualities and suitability.
Your workplace
You will work at the Laboratory for Organic Electronics (LOE). At LOE, we explore the electronic and optical properties of organic semiconductor materials, biomaterials from forestry, and organic hybrid systems. Of particular interest is utilizing the coupling between electronic and ionic charges for applications within energy, "internet-of-things", healthcare, and biology. Our research themes include synthesis, materials science, theory and modeling, device physics, nanotechnology, biotechnology, and system design. The activity covers everything from pure basic research to commercialization, where research projects closer to end-users and commercialization are carried out in close collaboration with RISE.
LOE currently comprises over 150 researchers and doctoral students divided into 9 units, each led by a responsible research leader.

About the employment
This is a fixed-term employment during the period 2026-09-01 to 2027-02-28, full-time 100%.
