The Department of Technical and Community Services is a broad and socially important workplace where many competencies collaborate. Here, we work with the entire societal construction process – from authority enforcement and planning to project implementation, operation, and service.

Our operations include environment and health, building permits, land surveying, projects, operation, maintenance, water and waste, as well as cleaning and meals. Within the support staff, there is administration, development issues, and GIS, which support the operations and contribute to coordination, quality, and long-term development.

The Business Area Water & Waste is responsible for all activities related to water and sewer services as well as waste management within Motala and Vadstena municipalities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position of Laboratory Engineer is located in the Water and Waste support staff, where the tasks consist of sampling at our various facilities, analysis of wastewater, leachate from landfills, sludge, drinking water (physico-chemical), and recipient water. You will also prepare solutions, calibrate instruments, and file and compile results. At the laboratory at the Karshult wastewater treatment plant, three laboratory engineers work full-time. The laboratory is accredited by SWEDAC according to ISO/IEC 17025.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal competencies:

  • University education in chemistry or similar related to the operations, or alternatively long experience in the field.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.
  • Category B driver's license is required.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start: As soon as possible.
Working hours: Office hours flex.
