Your responsibilities
This position involves project management, experimental planning, and laboratory work within molecular immunology. The project focuses on cell biology and the molecular regulation of hypoxia in cell types relevant to the synovium in rheumatoid arthritis, utilizing techniques such as molecular cloning, lentivirus generation and transduction, proximity labeling, mass spectrometry, and microscopy. The lab works on developing new cellular and molecular methods to study adaptive immunity and autoimmune diseases.
As a postdoctoral researcher, your primary role will be research. Teaching may also be included in the duties, accounting for no more than one-fifth of the working time.
Your qualifications
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, you must have completed a PhD or hold a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD. Your degree must be completed no later than the time the employment decision is made.
We are looking for you with a PhD in biological sciences and experience in the following:
- Molecular cloning (including Gibson assembly)
- Sample preparation and analysis of mass spectrometry data
- Proximity labeling
- Immunofluorescence imaging and confocal microscopy
- Quantitative automated image analysis
- Mammalian cell culture and co-culture systems
- Lentivirus generation and transduction
- Programming in R
The position also requires familiarity with current research within cellular hypoxia, immunology, autoimmunity, and mass spectrometry.
Additional experience with live imaging, RT-qPCR, flow cytometry, amoeba culture, and endothelial cell handling, along with familiarity with biomolecular condensate research, will be considered highly meritorious. You are an experienced molecular and cell biologist interested in developing new techniques in autoimmune disease research, collaboration, and supervising students. About the employment
This is a fixed-term contract for two years with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of three years. The position is full-time.
Start date by agreement.
