The work includes handling and analyzing patient samples, as well as conducting experimental studies on cells and tissues, and using a zebrafish tumor model to identify factors that promote metastasis.
You will contribute to research that also covers other tumor types and their metastatic patterns, with the goal of developing new insights that can improve clinical practice and enable innovative treatment options for patients with metastatic cancer.
About you
We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has high integrity. You have good collaboration skills, are service-oriented, and structured.
We require an academic degree of 3-6 years with a focus on medicine. You are proficient in Swedish in both speech and writing and have very good knowledge of English.
We require at least one year of experience in laboratory work. We also require experience with the following methods/techniques:
- Experience with zebrafish tumor models
- Handling of patient samples: tumor tissues and blood
- Maintenance of cell cultures
- Experience with experimental design, validation, and interpretation of biological results.
It is meritorious if you have previous experience with patient contact and knowledge of the design of clinical studies. Further education in research, statistics, and international experience within medical institutions are seen as major advantages.
It is also meritorious if you have experience with the following methods/techniques:
- Isolating immune cells from both tissues and blood
- Staining and imaging of tissues, use of confocal microscopy, and image analysis
- Molecular methods such as qPCR
We value a proactive attitude towards learning and teaching, as well as the ability to facilitate and plan conversations or seminars.
