As a Category Manager at Salt Labs, you will take ownership of suppliers, brands, and commercial activities in an e-commerce business where category management plays a crucial role in sales and profitability. This role is perfect for you if you want to work close to the business with relationships, campaigns, and pricing, while having ample opportunity to influence how the work is conducted moving forward.
Salt Labs operates e-commerce within the snus and nicotine products sector online. It is an entrepreneurial venture characterized by short decision-making paths, a down-to-earth culture, and opportunities to make an impact. There is plenty of room for your own ideas, direct dialogue, and a working style that prefers testing and improving over getting stuck in long processes.
The company works with multiple websites, markets, and strong brands in a category with a high repurchase rate and clear regulatory frameworks.
As a Category Manager, you are responsible for developing the business with selected suppliers and brands. You work closely with external partners and internal functions to plan campaigns, monitor sales, optimize price and margin, and ensure that commercial activities achieve the desired effect.
You need to enjoy supplier dialogue but also be ready to dive into systems, track numbers, drive activities, and ensure things get done. It is about understanding the potential of brands and converting it into concrete plans, activities, and results. You will step into a role where much is already working, but where there is also significant room to create better structure and drive the business forward.
In the role, you will among other things:
We believe you have a few years of experience from a commercial role close to products, brands, or suppliers. This could be within e-commerce, retail, or consumer goods, in a role such as Key Account Manager (KAM), Category Manager, Trade Marketing Manager, Partner Manager, or similar. The important thing is that you have worked close to the business and understand how relationships, price, campaigns, assortment, and margins are interconnected.
You are social, driven, and confident in reaching out. You enjoy building relationships but are also comfortable setting requirements, negotiating, and driving the business forward. You do not need to be a pure analyst, but you must be able to track numbers, understand what has worked, and translate insights into the next activity. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English.
Perhaps you are currently in a larger organization where you have learned a lot, but your responsibility is narrower than you would like. Here, you will have more room to influence, test, improve, and build working methods.
The role is primarily remote, but you also have the option to base yourself at one of Salt Labs' offices in either Lidköping, Skövde, Uppsala, or Grebbestad. Physical meetings occur during internal meetings, supplier meetings, and joint working days. The employment is a permanent position with a six-month probation period.
