Do you want a job where you make a real difference? As an Employment Consultant, you will support people in their development while becoming part of an engaged team that together creates pathways to work, studies, and hope for the future.

Your responsibilities

As an Employment Consultant, your most important task is to inspire and motivate our job seekers to drive their own development process. By mapping the job seeker's skills and experience, you create individualized activity plans that are continuously followed up and developed to best contribute to the job seeker's path to work. You coach both individually and in groups and lead certain activities. We offer, for example, motivational, language development, job-seeking, and workplace-based activities.

You collaborate with the job seeker's case worker, supervisors, corporate coaches, and employers related to work training and work practice. Within our area of operations, we have close cooperation with businesses, associations, various departments of Västerås City, and the employment unit's own workplaces. This gives us unique conditions to work based on individual prerequisites and needs.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university education in a relevant area, such as behavioral science or social pedagogy, or equivalent work experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have good knowledge of the labor market and experience in guidance and support work at both individual and group levels. You have good documentation habits and experience in administrative work. The role also requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. A B-driver's license is meritorious as workplace visits may occur.

As a person, you have a genuine interest in motivating, guiding, and utilizing individuals' abilities. You easily create professional relationships and use a coaching approach in your work. By being solution-focused, you see opportunities and find creative ways forward based on the individual's strengths and prerequisites. You understand that change is a process where development often occurs step by step, and you meet challenges with patience, engagement, and a positive attitude.

Other information

Selection and interviews will take place on an ongoing basis.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of registration together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
