Welcome to Askersund!

We are now looking for a teacher for grades 4-6, with a lead teacher assignment, at Åsbro School.

With us, you get all the advantages of working in a small municipality. Here we value the creation of close relationships, the courage to influence, and the commitment that permeates our work. We have jobs that make a difference, and together we make a difference every day, all in different ways but always with the municipality's residents in focus.

The Education Department is responsible for the municipality's childcare and educational activities from preschool and after-school care to preschool class, primary school, and adapted school. Our vision is that Askersund Municipality should offer every child and youth a preschool and school that makes the future one for all. A future filled with opportunities. All students should also remember their school time as safe, fun, and educational. The various operations of the Education Department have a clear common focus on all children's and students' prerequisites for completing their studies.

Åsbro School, together with Rönneshytta School, is part of the Northern School District. Each school has one class per grade: F-6, and they are located in smaller communities close to nature. The schools share school leadership and student health services.

As a teacher, you plan, teach, and follow up on your teaching so that all students have the opportunity to get as far as possible in their knowledge development. You will lead a teaching group (grades 4-6) where you investigate, problematize, and test solutions with the aim of improving your teaching as part of the municipality-wide work: School Improvement Together. You participate in a municipality-wide process leadership group, where a development leader, together with the municipality's lead teachers and at times a researcher from the University of Gothenburg, discusses experiences with the aim of developing the lead teacher role and the teaching groups' work around teaching improvement. Student participation is central to the improvement work.

You are also part of the school's steering group for development work.

The lead teacher assignment runs for one year with the possibility of extension.
