Do you want to make a real difference for students who need extra support to reach their full potential? We are now looking for special needs pedagogues and special needs teachers who want to contribute to creating an accessible learning environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed.

As a special needs pedagogue or special needs teacher, you are a key figure in the school's development. You support both students, educators, and work teams by identifying needs, planning interventions, and suggesting strategies that strengthen teaching. With your competence, you contribute to ensuring that every student has the right conditions to grow both academically and as an individual.

YOUR ROLE

You work closely with both students and colleagues to create a learning environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. You conduct investigations and analyses to identify needs and plan interventions that strengthen the students' development. Together with the school staff, you develop and follow up on action plans and provide advice and guidance to work teams and individual educators. By suggesting methods, tools, and approaches that meet different needs, you become a central resource in the school's work regarding inclusion, equity, and compensatory measures – always with the student's best interest in focus.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with a special needs pedagogy degree, or you who are a certified special needs teacher. If you have eligibility for grades 1–9 or experience working within primary school, it is meritorious. You who are at the end of your special needs pedagogue or special needs teacher education are also warmly welcome to submit an application.

You have good knowledge of Swedish and English and thrive in a role where collaboration and relationship building are central. To succeed, you need to be self-reliant, solution-oriented, and see opportunities in each student's individual development.

To work within Education and Labor Market operations, you are required to submit an extract from the criminal record register. You order the extract for schools and childcare yourself from the Police. It is valid for one year and must be renewed thereafter.

Skellefteå Municipality is part of the Finnish and Sami administrative areas. Language skills in Finnish and Sami, as well as cultural competence in these areas, are therefore meritorious.
